THALES conducts its operations through Business Groups. Each of them comprises a number of domestic Business Units or international Business Lines, the purpose of which is to specify, produce and sell a range of products (equipment, systems or services) to meet the requirements of a specific market. The Business Units and Business Lines, backed by shared or dedicated support teams, take the legal form of subsidiary companies of THALES.

Each of these profit centres is headed by a senior executive. All the senior executives of Business Units, Business Lines and companies constitute the Executive Management.
Like all managers, the senior executive in charge of one of these profit centres is responsible for controlling business, generating growth, leading and developing teams, preparing for the future and maintaining the Group's values at the highest level required.
