François Quentin is a graduate of the ENS Telecom engineering school.

He joined the company in 1977, holding a series of positions for Communications and Command Systems and heading the Fixed Communication Networks business unit (1989-1992). He was then Chairman and CEO of subsidiary Auxilec (1992 to 1999) until appointed Senior EVP and then CEO (2000) of Thales Avionics. He went on to become SVP, Avionics Systems in 2002. He has held his current position since 2004.
